Ukulele for Kids, 2nd-4th Graders
Has your child wanted to learn an instrument, but you aren't sure you are ready to commit to the expense? Has the Ukulele craze caught their interest? Are you ready to see them spend time with something that does not have a glass screen??
Robert Allwarden, the music specialist at Wilkins, is introducing a brand-new program with Amherst Parks & Recreation: Learn to play the Ukulele!!
Ukulele for Beginners, 2nd-4th Graders
This first 4 week session will teach students basic chords and simple songs to play and sing. No prior knowledge is needed. All instructional materials will be provided, including ukuleles during instruction. If the students want to practice at home, they will need their own ukulele.
Ukulele Part 2, 2nd-4th Graders
This class is for those who have taken at least one session of Ukulele for Beginners or is coming into the class with the fundamentals, building upon basic skills.
Who: 2nd-4th Graders*
Where: After school at Wilkins Elementary
When: Tuesdays, 3:15-4:15
Why: Because the Ukulele is Cool, Portable, Relatively Inexpensive, and FUN!
Ukulele for Beginners, 5nd-8th Graders
Next fall, we will introduce a Ukulele class for middle schoolers! Class will begin at 4:30 at Wilkins. More details will be provided this summer.
We will need a minimum of 5 students for the class to run, with a maximum of 15 students.
