Learn how to love running with our fabulous coaches and Cross Country program! This program will emphasize learning how to run cross country and include trail running. The program is open to athletes ages 7-18.

Runners will train two times a week. Each day will have its own focus: strength and endurance, speed and endurance, and technical running. 

Fitness and Fun Level is for the recreational runner who wants to gain XC knowledge and increase their physical strength. The fee has increased as we are now including a long-sleeved neon shirt with registration. This is a safety feature in addition to a participation bonus :)

Competitive Level with Technical Training is for the more competitive runner. This level will train at a more competitive level focusing on gaining speed, strength, and technical running skills. The USATF youth membership fee ($20) is included in this registration fee.

The team will participate as a USATF club and will host a meet in November in partnership with USATF and Freestyle Farm LLC. Please note that Amherst Track & Field Members do not have to purchase the team singlet they are welcome to wear the one they were issued in previous seasons. If you do not have the white ATF singlet (shirt) you will need to purchase one by "registering" for a singlet when you register for the team. Participants will provide their own black shorts.

Practices will be held Tuesday and Thursday weekly at the Freestyle Farm, 188 Mack Hill Road, Amherst. They will start at 6:00pm initially and move earlier as the days grow shorter. The practice will be approximately 1 1/2 hours in duration.

We will be hosting meets on November 5th and 12th. Parents are required to volunteer at these events.

We highly encourage parents to run with us to:
1)share the love of running with your children
2)help us keep chaperone the runners, very important as dusk arrives earlier in October. 

Mandatory Parent Info Sessions
There will be mandatory parent info sessions on 9/12 and 9/14 at Freestyle Farm. More info to come.

Pre-entry race fee: $9
Fee after November 3 at 12:01am or on race day: $20
Race day 8am-9am-NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 9am
