Meet your Coaches
Jaime Harnish:
I'm Jaime Harnish, formerly the Head Coach of Souhegan’s Varsity softball team. Currently, I work full-time as a Paraprofessional at Souhegan High School, where I'm also the Co-Advisor of the freshman class and a member of the Community Council. Softball has been a lifelong passion; I played throughout my childhood and high school years, although I didn't continue in college, opting instead to pursue my passion for education. Since 1997, I've had the privilege of working in the field of education, witnessing the growth and development of countless children, which is deeply rewarding to me.
Amherst is home for me and my wonderful family, including my husband and our four children, all of whom have been involved in softball to varying degrees. One of my daughters, Liv, developed a profound love for the game and has been playing competitively since she was nine, traveling up and down the East Coast for tournaments.
Coaching brings me immense joy, and I've been involved in various coaching roles over the years. I started as an assistant coach at Amherst Middle School from 2017 to 2019, then moved to the high school as an assistant coach in 2021 before taking on the role of head coach in 2022. Additionally, I've coached recreational 12U softball in our community.
Olivia Harnish:
My name is Olivia Harnish, a proud graduate of Souhegan High School and former player on the varsity softball team. I served as team captain during both my Junior and Senior years, earning accolades such as Best Offensive Player, Best Defensive Player, MVP, and Allstate recognition.
My passion for softball ignited at the age of three while living in North Carolina, and it only grew stronger after my family relocated to Amherst when I was in 3rd grade. By the age of eight, I was fully immersed in competitive year-round travel softball, a commitment I still uphold today.
After high school, I embarked on my collegiate journey at the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, where I experienced my first taste of collegiate softball during Fall Ball. Seeking a new academic and athletic environment, I transferred to Southern New Hampshire University, where I am currently pursuing my studies.
Softball has been more than just a sport to me; it's been a profound teacher of life lessons. Through the game, I've learned the values of humility, perseverance, leadership, and dedication.
Outside of the diamond, I'm deeply invested in nurturing the next generation. Alongside my studies at SNHU, I work in Early Childhood Education and offer pitching lessons to young softball enthusiasts. I'm committed to delivering the best possible experience to each and every camper I encounter.
