Wilderness & Remote First Aid Certification Course

If you spend lots of time in the outdoors and want to be prepared for any situation, this is the class for you. The American Red Cross Wilderness and Remote First Aid course is designed to provide individuals a foundation of first aid principles and skills to be able to respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate emergency medical services. 

Students will learn in outdoor and indoor environments with hands-on practice of accident prevention and response care that may be needed in the outdoors. Students who complete and pass the class requirements will receive certification valid for 2 years. 

Who: Ages 15+ (must have current adult CPR, AED certification)
When: April 28-29, 9am-7pm
Where: PMEC, 66 Brook Rd, Amherst NH
Fee: $150R, $175NR
        Optional: $10 for manual (a printed copy is required for the course. All students will be given a downloadable copy)

Min: 4, Max: 10

What to Bring
This course will take place both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions. Please be prepared for all conditions with the following items
- backpack
- rain/snow layers
- sun protection
- hiking shoes
- refillable water bottle
- lunch/snacks

We will also be using a variety of equipment for lessons to simulate what you would carry in the back country. Please bring the following if you have it at home (no need to purchase any of these for class).
- sleeping bag
- sleeping pad
- hiking/ski poles
- rope
- clothing layers
- first aid kit
