Art for Kids: At Home Edition

Join us for some art time online! Over the course of this class participants will explore watercolor painting including resist techniques, glue/salt paintings and using water color paints on different services. Art Pick up Bags will include the 3 projects and materials. A few at home materials requires (see below).  A scheduled zoom lesson will accompany each project. The zoom lesson will also be recorded should this work better for some participants. Bag pick up will be required at the Recreation Department (4 Cross Street) a few days prior to first class. Email will be sent outlining pick up instructions.


Project 1: Water Color Resist
Project 2: Raised Glue Salt Paintings
Project 3: Watercolor Painting Not on Paper!

Who: Ages 5-10

Dates: Saturdays, April 11-25
Times:
 10:30am-11:30am
At Home Materials Needed: scissors, markers, table salt, pencil, pen, paper towels/cloth for painting, cardboard/newspaper to protect work surface, cup & water
Fee: $45R, $55NR

Meet your Instructor!
Holly recently joined the Amherst community in 2018, moving to the area with her husband, daughter age six, and son age four. Holly holds a master’s degree in art therapy and counseling and is a licensed counselor and board-certified art therapist. Over the past 20 years Holly has provided art therapy, counseling services, and numerous creative art experiences to individuals and groups of all ages. She values the use of the arts as a tool to support emotional growth, socialization, and individual expression across the life span.

Holly enjoys being creative in a variety of ways, playing with and creating art with her children, gardening, cooking, hiking and spending time at the beach and in nature.
