Fundamentals of Writing Workshop

Are you a student looking to get a little extra help with your writing skills? Join Miss Laurie for a 3-part writing workshop. We will explore the basic fundamentals of writing effective paragraphs, essays, stories, and conclusions. If desired, we will hone a piece for potential publication. Bring your own writing project, or an assignment for school.

Homeschool Students and Remote Learners
Where: PMEC 66 Brook Rd Amherst, NH 03031
When: Wednesdays - January 13th, 20th & 27th
Ages 11-13yr: 10:00am-11:00am
Ages 8-10yr: 11:15am - 12:15pm
Fee: $50R; $55NR

Note: A minimum of 4 participants is needed to run this program.
PMEC is excited to offer programs that will compliment remote, online, and in-person learning. We will be following the proper state-directed and CDC guidelines, which includes physical distancing and face coverings. We will need a minimum of 4 students and maximum of 12 students allowed for each class. All classes will have an element of outdoor time; if weather is a factor we will be able to hold class inside while maintaining 6 feet apart.

About the Instructor
About the Instructor
Laurie is an environmental/science writer and educator. She has an environmental engineering background with a masters in journalism. She has published with Scholastic, The Christian Science Monitor, and Odyssey Magazine for children. She has tagged swans, otters, and black bear to aid in conservation efforts. She loves hands-on learning and believes that children retain information best when interacting with their subject. Laurie loves camping, hiking, biking, boating, and anything to do with the outdoors. She lives in Brookline, NH with her three children, three hamsters, cat, dog, lizard, chicken, and her husband.
