Are you ready to jump, cheer, dance and stunt? Give All Star Cheerleading a try!! Join us and have fun learning and improving the fundamentals of cheerleading. Northern Lights Amherst Cheer is for kids who want to learn more about cheer as well as current cheerleaders. Practices will be held once a week. Teams will learn a routine that incorporates dance, partner stunts, tumbling, and more and will perform it in Keene at the Northern Lights Athletics' Spring Showcase! Instruction is age appropriate with a focus on fun. This is a performance based program; cheerleaders will not cheer at football or basketball games.
This year, cheerleaders will be able to choose between two teams.
Competition Team:
Who: Ages 6-12
When: Tuesdays 5-7pm; Dec-May
Where: SHS cafe
Fee: $250R, $280NR (uniform fee not included)
Performances: One competition (TBD) and Showcase performance in May in Keene, NH
Equipment Needed: cheer shoes & uniform
Max: 25
Showcase Team
Who: 2 teams: grades 1-5 & 6-12
When: Mondays 5-6pm for 1-5 and 6-8pm for 6-12; March-May
Where: SHS cafe
Fee: $150R; $170NR (uniform fee not included)
Performances: Showcase performance in May in Keene, NH
Equipment Needed: cheer shoes & uniform
Meet your Coach!
Mo Greene is an Amherst resident and teacher at Souhegan High School. She has run the Amherst Rec. Cheer Camp for the past 8 years along with the Northern Lights Amherst Cheer program. Coach Mo has over 19 years of cheer coaching experience including elementary, middle, high school and all star teams. Previous coaching experience includes: cheer coordinator and head coach for the Amherst Patriots, Amherst Middle School cheer and dance coach, varsity high school cheer coach and level 6 all star cheer coach.
