girls empowerment camp
A week-long experience for tween & teen girls to build resiliency skills and  a sense of confidence physically and mentally to navigate the dynamic stress they encounter. This program will combine a variety of activities to empower young women to embrace their bodies and hearts through yoga & zumba classes, a high-ropes course experience, mindful hiking, community building games, activities and workshops. Opportunities for play will be threaded throughout this week-long experience to help participants get connected with themselves and build trust with each other by being silly, authentic, and brave. Young women will develop body awareness & emotional literacy skills that will lead them to feel more confident in engaging in courageous growth opportunities in their daily lives.

The camp will run Monday-Thursday, and will be based at Souhegan High School. An optional add-on is available for a group hike up North Pack Monadnock on Friday August 9th, as a culminating activity to our week-long experience together. Participants will need to provide their own transportation.

Meet your Facilitator
Traci Cote will be hosting this week of empowering young women. Traci has been the school psychologist for Amherst in both the middle and high schools, and is passionate about building resilience and grit in young people. She is also a yoga teacher and mindfulness practitioner who loves all things nature. Traci brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the complicated social dynamics our young women have to navigate. As a former field hockey & lacrosse coach, she is passionate about guiding girls to find the inner strength that comes from the mind, body, and spirit connection. She believes that providing explicit opportunities for play and structured social opportunities, as well as teaching kids to sit with stillness allows young women to develop the intrapersonal and interpersonal skills needed to feel confident navigating the world.
