Come join us for a monthly class that combines an art history lesson followed by an art studio experience. Each class will begin with an art history lesson exposing participants to a variety of historic art periods, art movements, influential artists, cultural art influences, and art styles/techniques. Participants will create their own masterpieces based upon the art history lesson. Participants will be able to get in touch with their inner Monet, Picasso, or Matisse as well as experience art contributions from places around the globe! All materials are included in the class and a variety of mediums will be explored.

Meet Your instructors:
Holly Majkut:
Holly is trained as a mental health counselor and art therapist. She holds a master’s degree in clinical counseling and art therapy and is credentialed with the art therapy board. She currently provides therapeutic services to children and families through Mountain Heart Wellness located in Amherst NH and collaborates with the Amherst NH Recreation department to provide various programs. She has been working as an art therapist and mental health counselor with children (ages 3 and up) and families over the past 20 years. Holly values the use of the arts as a therapeutic tool to support children's emotional growth and development. With a focus on increasing communication, problem solving and social skills while promoting individual expression through the fun of creativity!
Jessica Anderson:
Jessica is the art teacher at Wilkins Elementary School. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a Master’s Degree in Art Education. She has taught in a variety of environments, including two Elementary Schools in New Hampshire, as well as a Middle School and a High School in Los Angeles, California. She has lived in many diverse places around the world, which has instilled her deep appreciation for so many cultures. Jessica has been sharing her love of art and culture with her students for the past eight years. She hopes to spark student’s creativity and support originality through fun and engaging art making.
