Youth Program Description:
Tennis in the Parks - The tennis program where kids play while they learn!  Led by a USTA-approved coach, the Tennis in the Parks program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally, and play - so it’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. We focus on FUN and learning the basics through play. This program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets and the latest engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker. 
 
All players in their first session receive and keep a new age-appropriate racquet and ball!

Youth Program Dates and Times
Spring Youth Learn & Play Session 1 - Tuesdays and Thursdays 5/6 -5/22- 7/25; Rain dates 5/27 & 5/29
Grades 1-2: 4pm-5pm
Grades 3-5: 5pm-6pm
Grades 6-8: 6pm-7pm
 
Summer Youth Learn & Play Session 2 - Tuesdays & Thursdays 7/8 - 7/24; Rain dates 7/29 & 7/31
Grades 1-2: 4pm-5pm
Grades 3-5: 5pm-6pm
Grades 6-8: 6pm-7pm
 
Minimum average of 7 participants over all three age groups with a maximum of 8 participants per group. 
 
Fee $80 Resident $95 Non-resident


Adult Program Description:
Tennis in the Parks for Adults - Learn and Play Tennis!  Led by a USTA-approved coach, participants will have fun and get great exercise while developing the skills to serve, rally, and play tennis. The program is perfect for first-time and beginner players, as well as returning novice players. 

All players in their first session receive and keep a new tennis racket!

Adult Program Dates and Times
Spring Adult Learn & Play Session 1 Adult 18 & Over:
Saturdays 5/3 - 6/14 (no class 5/24); Rain Date 6/21
8:00am - 9:30am

Summer Adult Practice & Play  Session 2 Adult 18 & Over:
Saturdays 7/12 -8/16; Rain date 8/23
8:00am - 9:30am

Minimum of 7 participants and max of 8

Fee $90 Resident; $105 Non-resident

Meet the Instructor
Joe Surak is a passionate tennis coach dedicated to enhancing players’ skills and fostering a love for the game. As a coach, he possesses a deep understanding of the game, efficiently guiding players in technique, strategy, and mental strength. My mission is to inspire growth, teach discipline, and grow a genuine passion for tennis. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, he is committed to helping you reach your full potential. Joe is a strong supporter to giving back to the community and hope to provide that with the USTA Tennis in the Parks program.

Experience and Credentials:
• Actively participated in USTA league play since 2015, gaining valuable insights into competitive tennis.
• In 2016, proudly represented his team at a USTA National event, playing against top-level league players and honing his tennis and coaching skills.
• Privately coaching since 2021 and became a USTA Level 1 Coach (since 2023). USTA SafePlay approved, and prioritizes safety and excellence in every coaching session.
