Nashua Senior Center
Nashua Senior Center: As residents of Amherst, you are eligible to join the Nashua Senior Activity Center! They offer many activities, trips, clinics, and information sessions. A single membership is $40/yr and a couples membership is $60/yr. Open to anyone 55+
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNH. Membership is $40/yr which gives you access to many varied programs from learning mathematically based card tricks to Art History, and folk dancing!

RISE presents information sessions before the start of each semester. These sessions provide an opportunity to meet RISE leadership and facilitators, learn about the program, and courses and find out if our program is right for you. All members, prospective members and facilitators are welcome to attend.
Silver Sneakers Fitness Program
Silver Sneakers: Fitness program for people aged 65+. Medicare may cover the cost of a gym membership. The closest to Amherst is Planet Fitness on Northwest Blvd. The YMCA of Greater Nashua also offers Silver Sneakers. **Not an endorsement of those gyms, just information.
University of New Hampshire
University of New Hampshire: Senior citizens (65+) can enroll, at no cost, for two credit-bearing classes per academic year on a space-available basis (if you aren’t currently enrolled in a degree program). Courses are offered online or in person.
NH Contra Dances
Many consider New Hampshire to be the contra dance capital of the world. For centuries, community members and visitors have gathered together to swing, stomp, and dance in town halls and community centers. Today, the modern popularity of contra dances across the United States trace their roots to the old town halls and dance floors of New Hampshire. Dances are held in Milford on the 4th Friday of each month at 7PM in the town hall. Dudley Laufman still dancing, calling, and playing his accordion at 93. People from 5 to 95 often there. Come with children and grandchildren. Live music. Dance, sit and listen, or join the band. Cheaper for seniors and students. Children usually free. All dances taught! **Other dances are held around the state. Check link below.

Currier Museum of Art Memory Cafe
The Memory Café is a joyful and creative social experience designed for people in the early stages of memory loss along with their care partners and loved ones. It is an opportunity to connect while viewing and discussing art, facilitated by an Art and Wellness Specialist who will provide prompts that encourage a fun and social dialogue. The program is held from 1 – 2 pm on the first Wednesday of each month. Light refreshments are provided. Advanced registration is not required.
Christmas in New York Bus Trip with Merrimack, NH Rec Dept
Want to see New York but don’t want to drive and spend half the day looking for parking? At last, a chance for you to get away to the Big Apple! Here you can get an early start on your shopping, spend the day sightseeing, take in a show, or visit New York’s world class museums.
Enjoy the magic wonder and allure of New York City at Christmas time on this fantastic one day trip. We'll depart early this morning from the Exit 8 Park & Ride in Nashua to make our way to downtown Manhattan. The streets and shops of New York are full of energy and holiday shoppers. We'll drop you off in the Rockefeller Plaza area of mid-town Manhattan. Once here you may want to explore at your own pace sights such as St. Patrick's Cathedral, Times Square, Top of the Rock, NBC Studio Tour, or others. You may decide to take in the great shopping on Madison or 5th Avenue! You'll have plenty of time to see the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Plaza, and stroll out in front of Sak's 5th Avenue. You may even want to take in a matinee show of the Radio City Rockettes! We'll depart NYC at 6:30 pm from the city to get us back home just a back home around 11:30 pm with great memories of the Big Apple at Christmas!
Trip departs from the Exit 8 Park & Ride in Nashua at 6:00 am. We will arrive in NYC around 11:00 am and then the day is yours to do as you choose. We will be departing NYC at 6:30 pm and returning home at approximately 11:30 pm. Advanced registration is required and spaces are limited. Payment in full is required at time of registration. $85/pp

New England Christmas Festival Trip--Mohegan Sun with Merrimack Rec Dept
Join Merrimack Parks and Recreation as we head to the Mohegan Sun Casino in CT to attend the New England Christmas Festival.
The New England Christmas Festival is an eagerly anticipated annual event offering everything a holiday shopper could desire under one roof at the Mohegan Sun Earth Expo Center. The Festival brings together 350+ Art, Craft & Specialty Food Artisans from all over the country to display and sell their unique, hand made products.
There is something for everyone, and in all price ranges. The array of products includes stunning jewelry, seasonal decorations, photography, distinctive home accessories, children's toys and clothes, pet specialties, gifts for the sports minded, specialty foods and much more. These are items not found on store shelves, but rather cater to those looking for "something more."
Trip departs from the Exit 8 Park & Ride in Nashua at 8:00 am arrives at the Casino by 10:00 am. Price includes luxury motorcoach transportation and a ticket to the New England Christmas Festival. Trip departs the Casino at 4:00 pm to return home by 6:00 pm. Advanced registration is required and spaces are limited!
Want to head to the Casino but not attend the Christmas Festival? There is an option for transportation only to the Casino. Note - there are no casino bonuses being offered.

If you're a mature motorist looking for ways to help prolong your driving years, AAA offers numerous traffic safety and educational programs that help keep mature drivers safely behind the wheel.
