Functional strength training focuses on exercises that prepare the body for activities performed in daily life.  Incorporating functional compound movements with added resistance or just body weight will increase muscle mass.  Addition of muscle will improve strength, endurance, balance and overall fitness. Classes will include education on good form with activities that include progressions and regressions for each activity. REGISTRATION OPENS JAN 1, 2025Amherst Recreation is excited to be teaming up with Amherst Lacrosse Club to offer Lacrosse to both boys and girls in the Souhegan Valley Region. Our goal is to teach athletes the FUNdamentals of Lacrosse in both practices and games. We will offer both a Sandlot program for our youngest players in PK - K and a Travel Lacrosse program for players in 1-6 grade.  See below for more info on each programs details, fees and registration deadlines.  Important Registration InfoRegistration opens January 1st, 2025 and closes February 28, 2025.US Lacrosse Membership: Players in the travel program will need to become a member of US Lacrosse by clicking here before registering for this program.  Your active US Lacrosse number will be required at checkout.Early bird discount deadline:2/1/25 for 8U-12U Travel programs 3/1/25 for Sandlot!!! An afterschool therapeutic educational program designed to assist children to develop social and emotional skills to support healthy development. Our goal is to teach athletes the FUNdamentals of Lacrosse in both practices and games.
