Halloween is much more than just candy! It is full of creepy science!Bring your mad-scientist lab coat or witch’s hat and learn how to bubble your cauldron, make a “ghost" hand, create your very own slime, hold a bubble, and create smoke rings out of ice and water. Anything is possible with a little science! Who: Kids age 3yrs - 5 years old and their caregiverWhen: Tuesday, October 27th 10:00am - 11:00amWhere: Peabody Mill Environment CenterFee: $15.00R $20.00NRPlease Note: We will be following the proper state-directed and CDC guidelines, which includes physical distancing and face coverings. We will need a minimum of 4 students and maximum of 12 students allowed for each class. All classes will have an element of outdoor time; if weather is a factor we will be able to hold class inside while maintaining a 6 foot distance.

Homeschool Science Class - Fall Session Welcome to Homeschool Science Class 2020! We are thrilled to be kicking off the Fall school year with an exciting Homeschool curriculum.This year PMEC will be offering science classes once a month beginning Tuesday, September 22nd. The structure for each session includes, one hour Education and one hour Play/Social Interaction. The classes will most often be divided by age during the first hour. Ages may combine for the second hour for gaga ball; Broom Hockey, Charades, Pictionary, and various group building games. Please find below an outline of what we planned for each month. Hope you can join us!Who: Ages 5yrs–7yrs & 8yrs–10yrsWhere: PMEC 66 Brook Rd Amherst, NH 03031 – Weather allowing, classes will be held outside. When: September 22nd, October 20th & November 17th from 1:00 – 3:00Fee: $28R; $33NR Please Note:  We will be following the proper state-directed and CDC guidelines, which includes physical distancing and face coverings. All classes will have an element of outdoor time; if weather is a factor we will be able to hold class inside while maintaining 6 feet apart. September - Aquatic Life Exploration — Come to PMEC and explore what lives in the water around our home. Be biologists for the day, complete with nets and magnifying glasses and discover how and what lives in the watery depths. We will explore the pond and the streams. First hour of structured learning and second hour of informal outside activity.October - The Secret Life of Trees — Did you know that trees communicate with one another? They protect and help each other grow! Come explore the trails at PMEC and learn all about the different trees found in the woods around us and how they interact. We will learn and experiment with why leaves change colors. We will explore a variety of pinecones and uncover their amazing secrets. First hour of structured learning and second hour of informal outside activity.November - Animal Adaption — Skulls, furs, beaks all help animals adapt for their particular life styles.
