Field Weather Policy-For All Field Activities & Sports


If Lightning or Thunder is observed by parents, coaches or umpires, all players should be immediately removed from the field to a safe area with their parent/guardian for 20 minutes.  With each and every observed lightning flash or thunder clap, a new 20 minute delay begins.  After 20 minutes without lightning or thunder the game/practice may begin or resume with the approval of a parent coach or umpire.  If a parent coach or umpire believes that it is unsafe to continue play, the game/practice should be suspended and, when possible, rescheduled.
