REGISTRATION OPENS JAN 1, 2025

Batter up! Babe Ruth League Baseball is open for players 5-12 years old. Please see below for information on specific groups including season dates. 

Registration opens January 1, 2024.

Early Bird Discount ends February 1, 2025
Last Day to register for Rookies is March 7th
Last Day to register for T-Ball is March 21st
 
Screening Times: TBD (tentatively - Saturday, March 8th at the AMS Gym. (Screenings are indoors, please bring sneakers and NO CLEATS)
  - Majors: 11:00am-12:00pm
  - Minors: 12:00pm-1:00pm
  - Rookies: 1:00pm-2:00pm
  * no screenings for t-ball

Baseball divisions are based on participant’s age as of April 30, 2025.

Jerseys and hats are provided for all levels. Grey uniform pants and socks are participants' responsibility for rookies, minors and majors.

All Stars...We do plan to have All Star Tryouts for Minors and Majors players.  To be eligible for the All Star program players must be registered in the spring Amherst Recreation baseball season.

T-Ball: ages 5-6
T-Ball introduces the player to organized baseball. (T-ball (Softball) is also available under "Softball, Spring"). No uniform pants required. Glove is required. Teams can expect one practice during the week, and one game on Saturdays.

Season Schedule
- March 21st: Registration Closes

- April 28th: Practices begin
- May 3rd: Games begin
- June 7th: Last Game

Rookies: ages 7-8
All baseball 7- and 8-year-olds will participate in a skills screening. Rookies will use coach pitch. Player pitching will begin to be developed mid-way through the season. Fundamentals of baseball are reintroduced and reinforced for players. Grey uniform pants, glove, cleats, and protective support required. Weekly schedule consists of 1 weeknight practice and 1 weekend game.

Minors: ages 9-10
Players will play regulation Cal Ripken baseball. Team placement will be based on skill development based on screening. Minors play on a 60' diamond. Grey uniform pants, glove, cleats, and protective support required. Weekly schedule consists of 2 weeknight practices and 1-2 games. Travel to surrounding towns is required for this division

Season Schedule:
- TBD: Coaches Meeting at 7:30pm
- March 7th: Registration Closes
- March 8th: Screenings at 12pm (tentative)
- March 24th: Practices Begin
- April 5th: Opening Day (tentative)
- June 8th: Season Close (tentative)

Majors: ages 11-12
Players will play regulation Cal Ripken baseball. Team placement will be based on skill development based on screening. Majors play on a 70' diamond. Grey uniform pants, glove, cleats, and protective support required. Weekly schedule consists of 2 weeknight practices and 1-2 games. Travel to surrounding towns is required for this division.
