Register for Fall Soccer with Amherst Recreation and your player will learn and develop soccer skills, sportsmanship and team spirit! All teams are volunteer coached- please consider offering your time and talent. We offer various levels of soccer based on age groups. All genders will play together in all leagues. Shin guards are required at all levels.

4U
4U Soccer is a one day per week, program to introduce soccer to children ages 3 and 4. Formal games will not be played at this level. Players will be playing games with soccer balls and focusing on skill development. There will be no additional practice days at this level. Teams are co-ed. Soccer Ball Size: 3

6U
6U Soccer is a one day per week, program to introduce soccer to children ages 5 and 6. A 30 minute team practice will be followed by a 30 minute game (4v4) against another team. There will be no additional practice days at this level. Teams are co-ed. Soccer Ball Size: 3

8U
This league is for players ages 7 and 8 and will be focused on introducing basic dribbling, passing and shooting skills. This division is played 5v5 which allows players to learn basic positioning concepts and encourage passing and careful footwork. Shin guards and soccer specific cleats are required at this age. They will have one practice and one game per week. Practice days will be determined by coaches and games will be scheduled for Saturdays. Teams are co-ed. Soccer Ball Size: 3
10U
This league is for players ages 9 and 10 and will continue to work on basic skills while incorporating more foot skills and strategic teamwork. There will be a focus on positional play and positional "sense." This division is played 7v7 and goalkeepers are introduced at this age. Shin guards and soccer specific cleats are required for this age group. They will have one practice and one game per week. Practice days will be determined by coaches and games will be scheduled for Saturdays. Teams are co-ed. Soccer Ball Size: 4
12U
Players ages 11 and 12 year olds will continue to build on offensive and defensive play, but players who are new to soccer are encouraged to participate. These teams will travel short distances to play teams in surrounding towns. Practices will be 1-2 times per week with games scheduled for Saturdays. Shin guards and soccer specific cleats are required for this age group. Teams are co-ed. Soccer Ball Size: 4
