Camp Sampler (Week 1, June 21st- June 25th)
Come and meet your favorite PMEC/Outdoor Discovery Counselors and get a sneak peak of camp. Every day this week will be a different theme day from the Outdoor Discovery weekly themes below. Please note, there is no field trip this week.
Eco-Zone (Week 2, June 28th-July 2nd)
Our eco-adventure will help us gain an appreciation of our natural surroundings. Discover the three R's of Green Living: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle! Campers will be amazed at all the fun games and art we can create while reducing, reusing, and recycling!
Trash to Treasure (Week 3, July 5th - July 9th)
Learn how to use commonly discarded items and environmental materials to create beautiful pieces of art. Re-purpose items such as CD cases, yogurt containers, Popsicle sticks and more to create mosaics, birdhouses, etc.!
Minute to Win it (Week 4, July 12th- July 16th)
It's time to see how many rubber bands can be wrapped around a watermelon, or how many apples you can bob. This week is all about seeing what fun things can be done in just a minute’s worth of time!
Around the World in 5 Days (Week 5, July 19th -July 23rd)
Get ready to zoom through all the places on your travel bucket list! We will explore games and wildlife from different countries along with some Olympic style competitions!
Capture the Flag, with a Twist (Week 6, July 26th - July 30th)
Be one of three groups to build a shelter and a fort in a secret location. With other skills learned this week, hide a map with coordinates to your fort. Play Capture the Flag using a compass and camouflage. Plan rescue missions to save captured team mates!
Castaway (Week 7, August 2nd -August 6th)
Spend the week exploring and fishing the streams and ponds in the area. Learn the types of fish found in the ponds and streams and how to best catch them. Counselors will teach you the ins and outs of fishing using a variety of methods!
H2-OH!! (Week 8, August 9th- August 13th)
A perennial favorite has been modified to provide even more fun in this water based program. Campers will explore different types of wetlands in the Joe English Conservation Land and the wildlife that lives there. WARNING, you will get wet and muddy!! We may even have some water gun and water balloon fights!
Field Trips
Outdoor Discovery Summer Camp will join friends from Baboosic Lake Summer camp for field trip days, all on Wednesdays! (Some dates may be subject to change). Field Trip prices increase by $10 if payment is not in the Friday before the trip. Space is limited so register soon. Drop off and pick-up for all field trips is at PMEC, 66 Brook Road.
