REGISTRATION OPENS JAN 1, 2025
The CIT (Counselor in Training) Program at Amherst Summer Camps equips teens with the skills and knowledge base they need to become a camp counselor. This summer, CITs will have the opportunity to participate in team building activities with their peers, complete a community service project in town, and practice leading activities at our summer camps. This program is designed for teens who are interested in working with children and want to gain practical experience. CITs will be responsible for planning and leading activities along with assisting camp groups.
Structure:
The week of June 23th, we will offer a one week CIT training. For the remainder of the summer, those that participated in our one week training or the 2024 CIT program can register to be CITs for the remaining weeks of the summer (space limited per week). During these CIT Optional Weeks, CITs will be assigned to groups and will assist counselors in creating crafts, leading games, and making camp fun for all the campers.

Who: Rising 8th-9th Graders
When: June 24th-27th. 9am-3:30pm
Where: PMEC and Baboosic Lake Drop off and pick up will be at PMEC. (66 Brook Rd.)

Training Week Schedule:
Day 1: (Tuesday) Introductions - Community Service Day
Day 2: (Wednesday) Camp Tours & Shadow Camp Counselors
Day 3: (Thursday) Planning Day
Day 4: (Friday) Lead Camp - CIT's assigned to either PMEC or Baboosic
CIT Optional Weeks: (maximum of two weeks)
Who: Participants of 2024 CIT program or 2025 CIT training week
When: Weekly, June 30th - August 15th. 9am-3:30pm
Where: Outdoor Discovery Camp or Baboosic Lake Camp
Weekly Fee: $40R, $45NR
ODC Max: 6, BLC Max: 3
Those participating in the 2024 CIT Training week will receive a code on their receipt to register with.
